Anticipación...

Hello and welcome to my travel blog. I hope to make it fun and interesting. If not, you're out of luck. This blog should serve at least four purposes:

1. Inform friends and family what I'm up to
2. Allow me to personally reflect on the exciting events that will take place during my stay abroad
3. Apply toward my credit for the OBU honors program
   
4. Upon my return, give me a way to look back and reminisce on the aforementioned events

It is officially the day of my departure. I am mostly packed, and all I have to do is get some sleep, finish packing, go by my doctor's office to get a copy of my shot records, and go to the airport.

I have been planning this trip for about two years, and I can't believe that it's finally happening! Estoy muy muy muy emocionado. By the way, I just might occasionally have spurts of Spanish in this blog. If this offends you, you are welcome to stop reading.

I have so many expectations and visual pictures of what to expect, but I know that nothing will be as planned. I've prepared and prepared, but the time has finally come to dive in and swim the dark waters of multiculturalism. The next time I give you an update, I will be all wet.

For those of you who pray, pray that I will be able to put on my big-girl panties and confidently face the unknown worlds of travel and South America.
